Core Creek Park. Sunset reflections off Lake Luxembourg. |
I have lived in five houses during my life. Three of which were a short drive to Core Creek Park, Bucks County. My current home is walking distance to Core Creek Park. I try to visit Core Creek Park a few times a week. Every season and each day within bring different colors and experiences.
Core Creek Park is located in Langhorne, PA. The park features grills and tables for picnics and several miles of trails for hiking and walking and biking. Lake Luxembourg is open for fishing, ice
fishing, and boating. Core Creek Park also has a playground, ball fields, and a natural areas.
Core Creek Park is has a Dog Park with separate facilities for large and small dogs, recognized as one of the top dog parks in the area.
Core Creek Park surrounds Lake Luxembourg, a lake that was created by impounding in 1975. Lake Luxembourg is about 175 acres. The lake dams Core Creek, which is a tributary of the Neshaminy Creek which leads to the Delaware River.
In the summer the lake undergoes thermal stratification and cannot support cold-water fish and thus only supports warm-water fish such as catfish, sunfish, and bass among others. As of 1995 17 species of fish are known to live in the lake.
